I will have my office band surgery date by Monday

Recommended Posts

I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to get this started. I plan on starting my pre surgery diet prep on Monday. It is a lifestyle thing and I can't wait. The thought of being able to play sports again rather than watch them. Just be active in the outdoors rather than just sitting on the sidelines. To be able to make love more than once a night. I can't wait to appreciate the food I eat, rather than let it comfort me. I want to live!

Okay....sorry for my rants......just want to Celebrate what is to come.

Allan, I could not agree with you more. I use to be so active. Running, jogging, playing sports. I use to have so much energy. Then I gained weight...A lot of weight, which really impeded my ability just to walk. Back pain, knee pain, and ankle pain kept me from doing what I really enjoyed doing.

But now that I am banded, I have so much energy. I am active and I exercise 5x a week doing what I love to do jogging and power walking.

Congrats on your decision to have the band. You will not regret it. It will give you the energy to get back in the game.

Not so much scared---my office mate just had it done through a different program and watching her has been comforting. I am worried that I will have unrealistic weight loss expectations. But overall I just want it done and over with. This whole process has taken me 1 year and I am ready to move on to the next step.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
