thanks jack ive been researching like crazy and thats how i actually stumbled across this site im going to watch the seminar online and ask questions on this board to help me out, when i talked to them they asked if i was 18 and i said no and they said ok, so i think thats fine, my insurance covers it, so i think im headed in the right direction, what should i expect when meeting with a surgeon?

I think, now that you know your insurance will cover, your next step should be to go to a "live" seminar, given by a surgeon (one your insurance will cover). That will answer a lot of questions for you, and bring up a lot more.

And might I suggest taking someone else with you...perhaps a parent since you're still 17, but if not that, then another person to be an "objective observer" for you? It's just smart, when it's such a large decision, to have two people listening and so on. Plus, since you are a little young per protocol, taking a parent or "guardian" might help you with your surgeon.

Please realize I don't mean to imply you can't decide for yourself....(some 17 year olds can, some 50 year olds shouldn't LOL) but just that it's a lot to absorb, so another can help. Plus it's easier to have people be "on board" with the surgery once they understand it!

Good luck!

Alot of places have options besides seminars. Online classes and one on one consultations. With your age, that might be more comfortable. I would research the heck out of the doctors in your area, call your insurance and see who they will let you use and talk to your parents (you will need them).

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
