Hi Cindie,

Don't feel bad, we are all human and the whole point of us being this much overweight is that we find it really hard to stick to diets. If we could stick to them we wouldn't be having surgery would we? Don't beat yourself up over it. Put it behind you and start again.

You don't want to blow it all now, focus on why you are doing this...because it is the start of a new life and a new beginning, the life you have always wanted, so you can do it. Avoid putting yourself in difficult situations if possible. Get back on track and keep think of the reasons why you are doing this and what life in the future will be like.

Good luck, remember next Wednesday is not too far off so keep up the good work that you have achieved so far!

You'll probably be ok for surgery, but......no more cheating! Dig in girl! You can totally do this.

I agree, you'll probably be OK but it will be up to your doctor. Just stick to it from now and you'll be fine! Sometimes it's hard and I'm sure we'll all have good days and bad days but we just have to keep focussed on the outcome and we will get there!

I'm being banded on Sunday so I'm getting nervous now!

Please don't beat yourself up over it. You messed up, learn from it and the worry it is causing you now, and move on. Finish your preop diet faithfully and you will probably be fine. No more cheating!

Many of us broke our pre-op diet on occasion. The two times I did, I didn't tell my surgeon, and it wasn't a problem. (of course, I have one of those laid back doctors who told me the day before surgery to go ahead and break it to have a nice "last meal").

The pre-op diet makes the surgery easier, but it is not a make or break deal if you do the best you can. Don't worry about it. You're good.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
