Which vitamin supplement is best?

Recommended Posts

I take a daily called Complete One which I purchased from Puritan Pride, you can request a catalog or look online. I take B complex, recommended by my dr. since I am diabetic. I take 600 mg. Calcium am and 600 pm., recommended by my nutritionist. I also take magnesium to help with calcium absorption, recommended by nutritionist. I think there is alot of benefits to taking the fish oil. I personally put ground flax seed on my yogurt daily, I think you get more of the omegas from this than the fish oil, but at times I opt for the fish oil.

I buy the store generic Vitamin products. I have not had any issues with them and my doctor tests my blood monthly to see where my Vitamin levels are at. Blood results are good, so far. Thank goodness!

I have not tried any oil vitamin products, because love fish and eat plenty of it.

I take the generic Centrum from cvs. They have buy one get one pretty often on that. I also get my chewable Vitamin d there. On my Omega I get that at vitaminshoppe.com. I get coromega. I like the plain orange. It doesnt taste bad and seems to get the job done. Best of luck.

I have been taking the same liquid Vitamin since banded 10/07. They sell it at both costco and Sam's club and it is about $13-$15 a bottle, 1 bottle per month. It is a red bottle called liquidmax or vitamax. It tastes like a handful children's Vitamins but you can get used to it quickly. I have had 2 blood work ups since my surgery and both were great and my doctor was quite pleased.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
