AHHH THE PAIN!!!!

I'm 3 weeks post-op. I went to the gym today, and did a 40 minute speed walking session.. It felt GREAT at the time. Once I got out of the gym and to my car my stomach/esophagus weren't very happy. I'm having HUGE amounts of pain and was wondering if anyone has had the same thing?!

(I have e-mailed my Doc, but it's the middle of the night and I don't think I can wait)

Well, you're right on the mark about contacting your doc. Really, medical tests are the only way to know 100% that you've slipped.

Having said that (and with zero ability to diagnose you), I'd think that if all you did was walk 3 weeks post op, you're probably fine.....maybe just pulled one o' them pesky abdominal muscles.

you probably did too much too soon. I was told not to do anything until 6 weeks post op. I hope all is well with you.

I too was told no exercise for 6 weeks postop and then to expect abdominal muscle pain to some degree.

Hope your doc can put your fears to rest.

I was told I could walk but not strenously. I am just taking slow easy walks just to get the exercise but not really going to push myself until after the 6 week point. My doctor also told me I could swim 3 days out. This is only my surgeon and we all know they are different.

Unsure15: I felt the same way when I kicked up my walking to a power walk on an incline at 2.5 weeks post op. The stomach muscles were sore and I swear I felt tighter restriction.

Your doctor can give you a better sense of what is going on, but I hope it is nothing serious.

Take care,
