Heather,

Hang in there. It is completely normal to have little restriction after 2 fills, even 3 fills. Just do your best and keep up the workouts and try to eat healthy. Maybe your Doc will give you another fill a little early.

I jogged 2 miles today non stop. A big break through for me. Haven't done that for a LONG time. My knees are sore, but I know that I can do it now!

I like the Protein shakes from costco. They are 160 calories, 5 grams of carbs/sugar and 30 grams of Protein which is great! They taste pretty good too, and they last a good hour to two hours before I get hungry again.

I like them better than protein bars because the bars taste like carboard.

I have also tried protein powder. I like to put 2 tbsp. of powder in a smoothie that I make at home. To keep it low calorie, I put in a banana, a cup of frozen mixed berries, a cup of skim milk and blend. No yogurt.

Okay,

I hit two knew lows today!. I am officially 245 lbs which I haven't been that low for over 2 years! My goal was to be 246 lbs by today and I beat that number!

Also, I jogged 2.5 miles today non-stop. I'm hoping I will do this again on Thursday. My knees are sore though, so we'll see.

Hi all. I am actually in week 2 of training for the MORE marathon in NYC last Sunday of April. Today I did (with a group) a little over 4 miles in 1 hour. That was walking, Outide at 8am in 11-14 degrees. This is a very exciting time for us. This will be my first 1/2 marathon. Good luck to everyone one... remember Put one step in front of the other. That way you are always a step ahead of yourself!

Go Banders!

Good luck & Best Wishes

Maranda

Hello All,

I am frustraited. My right knee is not doing so well. I did 2.5 miles last Monday and Wednesday, but my knee said no for my Friday workout. I ended up going to the gym on Sunday and working out on the Eliptical for 55 minutes and completed 4 miles. It was great.

However today I am suppossed to jog again and my knee won't let me. I hope it will be better by Wednesday. I also realized that I am suppossed to be up to 4 miles by the end of this month, up to 8 miles by the end of March and up to 12 miles by the end of April. I feel overwhelmed because of my darn knees!

At least the weight is coming off.

Where is everybody at for their 1/2 marathon plans?

I did a 10K and jogged the whole thing two weeks ago! I am very proud of myself. Although I was hoping to be ready for a 1/2 marathon by now, I will do one in October.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
