hltwhite 1 Posted January 20, 2009 Hi everyone! I am still in my first week post-op but having trouble gettign enough Protein because the shakes fill me up to fast. I have some Special K Protein Water that I woudl LOVE to have, but they are not allowed on my list. Has anyone heard if they can have these or not? (I am finding EVERYONE gets told something different from their doctors!!) Thanks!
L12 13 Posted January 20, 2009 I am allowed to have them, but I only drink one or two a week, if I have them around. I like them, but there's not much in them (more calories than anything), and they don't do anything for my hunger.
yarddawg72 0 Posted January 20, 2009 I too was able to have the Protein Water. I had to coax the Protein Shakes down ounce by ounce in the beginning. I think for the first week it just important to get as much water and protein as you can handle. I didn't strees about exact amounts so much as making sure i got SOME. This will all get better over the next week or so. Hang in there.
yarddawg72 0 Posted January 20, 2009 also remember that the "list" is a basic guide. I found lots of Protein filled items that my doctor had not heard of. Just keep adapting your body to the new way of eating. you will look good soon enough but you will feel good sooner. :-)
CW_Lady 0 Posted January 24, 2009 I use the Protein Water several times a week. It helps when I'm down a bit on my protein counts. Most of the time I take it on the nights I'm in school. Somedays, instead of water, I will take it to my aerobics class. I probably drink 3 or 4 a week.
