eyeinthesky 0 Posted January 20, 2009 I am scheduled for lap ban on 1-29. My surgeon never mentioned a 2 week liquid diet. They set up my nutritionist meeting for the 23rd. Does evenyone have to do the two week liquid diet or do some surgeons require less?
KyBandChick 3 Posted January 20, 2009 You will probably get your instructions when you meet with the nutrionist. The length of the pre op diet varies with each doctor. I think if you read enough you will find some people have no pre-op, some only have a few days and some have two weeks or more. My doctor has me on a 1 week diet
CountryGirlNY 0 Posted January 20, 2009 Mr dr. requires a 2 day liquid diet. Starting tomorrow - Banding on Thursday! I've been reading these boards for a few months now and there are a lot of different requirements. Every dr. seems to have their own. Do as your dr. says - that's always the best route to take. Best of luck to you!
crzytchr 3 Posted January 20, 2009 Surgeons are different on what they require and sometime have different requirements depending on the needs of the patient. It seems that most people are on some type of preop diet, but my surgeon did not require anything other than liquids only after 6pm the day before and nothing after 10:30pm. Just make sure that you do what your surgeon requires from you, and you should be fine.
