twiggysmiff 0 Posted January 19, 2009 I know I'm probably bugging all of you to death, but your help has really been getting me through these early days of the band. Today, when I woke up (5 days post op), I felt like I was on the verge of choking. Its almost like I have something stuck in the back of my throat. Is this normal? My doctor told me that he put the 10cc band on and "its pretty snug" and I'm fearing that it is too snug. If that's the case, will they have to go back in and put the 14 cc on or will it loosen as I lose some weight? This is such a foreign land. I did at least 2 years of research on this before I did it, but now I feel so ignorant in many things. Its really a matter of there's no way to fully prepare until you do it. JuneAct2 0 Posted January 19, 2009 Several times in the first week or so, I'd feel like I was choking when I laid down on my back. But, after that the feeling subsided. It WAS pretty scary at the time though! Are you able to drink plenty of fluids? If not, call your doctor. You definitely don't want to get dehydrated. And yes, the swelling will go away, and as you lose weight your stomach will get thinner, too. Answering your questions is what we're here for, but always check with your doctor.
