Okay, this is a little silly, but I think it is just conditioning... on my part.

<O:p

I have been heavy all of my life. So, being 27 about the last 12-15 years has been all about diets. What is new, what I could do that could possibly be "the one" that will make me skinny. Anyway... onto my point. :) <O:p</O:p

<O:p</O:p

Every time an Infomercial or Commercial about Diet products, pills or exercise machines come on .. my ears still perk up, and I for a brief moment still think.. is THIS the one. Then, my anxiety subsides and remember... OH YEAH!! MY BAND! I don’t Have to spend countless dollars/hours on this stuff anymore... Woo HOO!!

Anyone else... or am I the ONLY loon. :P

I totally agree. I feel that way when I'm with people who are complaining about their weight. I secretly think "thank god I have the band or I'd still be that miserable!"

ALL THE TIME!!! I LOVE it!!! I am still struggling a little with the "what have I dones" so I love the feeling I get when I see commercials like that...the weird thing for me is that what will my life revolve around now??? Having been over weight almost all of my life it is an adjustment to realize that I no longer am going to have to obsessive or look for the next thing that is going to "save" me. Means I have to deal with some core issues that may not be fun but at least I will be doing it thin!

GREAT question!

Lins - I thought the same thing!! What will i do with myself.... All I have been consumed with the past 15 yrs is my weight, I really thought that I was going to have some serious deamons to deal with....but as of yet, i havent. I figured i would be that one that just couldnt live with out being able to binge...but It is GREAT!!! Life is good....Well, 5 months out anyway. :)

I love it when the adverts come on for Weight Watchers as pre band I was a Weight Watchers or any other local slimming club addict, I really was dependant on them although none of them worked for me.

Gee, I sure miss my "Exercise in a Bottle", LOL. It was so much fun throwing all that stuff in the trash, just look at the $$$$ we're saving.

I am totally the same way and I have 15-20 lbs to lose to be at goal!!!! I actually called and inquired about one. I have actually "perked my ears" at other weight loss surgery commercials!!! Crazy, but my mind has not caught up with my body!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
