Wow, there are SO many surgeons doing this surgery who are just failing miserably to support their patients.

I'm glad you're finally feeling that you can work with your band. It does take a certain degree of understanding and commitment - nothing that is beyond the average person, but when your doctor doesnt provide you with the basics it makes it very hard!

totally agree! they had you a stack of papers and tell you all you need to know is here. If it weren't for sites like this, there'd be alot of lost people out there!

I personally would get a different doc. One who will take time with u. My doc spent 3 hours with me my first pre op visit!!! And most of the time he is behind schedule because he loves his patients and wants the best for them. I am sorry r going through this. I am newly banded so that is the only advice I have. Hope it helps. Good luck.

Could someone please explain PB, sliming etc. I was interested also in the comment about the heaviness in the chest. Since my last fill I have felt this after about 4 bites of food. I usually wait until the feelings pass and eat more to complete my one cup of food. I would appreciate comments from those of you who feel restriction. How does this feel.

I was banded about 3 years ago and then stopped the follow up due to family issues. I went back for a fill three days ago and I have never felt this way in the past. I burp LOTS and even Water seems to stay in my stomach for a bit of time. Is this normal???

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
