How Many Exercise Gadgets Do You Own?

Recommended Posts

I am so glad that you posted your post. I recently purchased a Tony Little Gazelle. It cost about $200.00. I had trouble putting it together and then did not like it. Of course, like a yahoo, I had thrown out the box it came in. I wanted to send it back, yet learned it would cost me a fortune to get a "customized box" (remember I disposed of the original). Seeing all of your posts really cheered me up. I have learned a valuable lesson. I live in an apartment and do not have room for extra junk.

Having all that crap lying around puts extra pressure on us. I just want to breathe, which is why I'm doing anything and everything to get rid of anxiety. All it takes to stay healthy is 30-60 minutes of walking a few times a week and a few pumps of weights. We are not body builders, just regular people.

We've exercised more than all our skinny friends put together. If we were gonna have rock hard bods, it would have happened by now!

Remember the comedianne (sp?) who said she orders a salad on all dates, then goes home, bolts the door and put on her eating clothes? Then she says, "And you gotta go to the gym, cause if you don't some other bitch will!" But my favorite line is when she says every time she exercises, she stares at the phone waiting for it to ring with the recorded message telling her she's just completed the exercise portion of her life. That's what I'm hoping for!

Here's my list:

Things I don't use:

-Exercise bike

-The Firm step & tapes

-Exercise videos

-Jane Fonda step

-Hand weights (stubbed my toe on one just this morning)

-Exercise bands

-Curves membership that led to 2 back surgeries and countless days in bed. Ironic, eh?

Things I use:

-Treadmill

-Elliptical Machine

I'm enjoying exercise for the first time because of my iPod. It's amazing how much fun walking can be with my favorite tunes. I tell my kids to go for Dad if they need something because I purposely turn it on too loud to hear them. I spent a fortune on the elliptical, but I'm too out of shape to use it. It should probably be under a "hope to use someday" column.

Wow - I never realized I had bought so much crap. I'm vowing here and now to get rid of everything in the don't use column. What a waste of space and money!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
