Celebrating a few small victories

Recommended Posts

In the last few days I've noticed a few small 'victories' that I wanted to share. If you'd like to share some of your victories or successes, let's hear them.

At work, very near my desk, we have a candy bowl. That darn candy has always been a challenge for me but I've resisted it since being banded. The other day I noticed that the candy bowl really does stay full longer without my continual snacking. Just a small personal observation but it made a difference to me.

Last night, I went to dinner and the theater with a friend. My friend is a very fast walker. In the past, I've nearly had to jog to keep pace with him. Or, I'd walk very fast to try to keep up but then I would be panting trying to catch my breath. Last night, we had to race from the restaurant to get to the theater on time for the show. I was able to keep pace with his very fast walk. No excess sweating. No panting trying to catch my breath. No aching feat. Yeah!

My one month pictures didn't show a noticeable difference, to me. But these small victories sure have given me a boost.

Congrats on your victories! We have a candy bowl at work too, and that was one of my major weaknesses as well. Since banding I don't even walk over there anymore.

My favorite victory so far is that I now fit back into my favorite jeans! Not only that, but I was really ambitious and tried on a size smaller than those, and they fit! That was really exciting for me. Sometimes (obviously the scale doesn't lie) but I don't feel like I'm really shrinking, so proof like that was amazingly inspiring!

Keep up your good work!

My small victories:

Getting over the fear of getting close to 199.

AND

Turning my power walk into a jog. One day, my power walk will be a 100% walk, just like I did before I gained all this weight. (I feel powerful when i jog for miles)
