Sugar Free Canation Instant Breakfast

Recommended Posts

This is the liquid diet I have decided to use to try and lose the weight before my lap band on 2/23 - am I able to add a bannana in it or something to give it some flavor? Also am I able to take my regular Fiber plills that I normally take. They usually help keep me full when I do take them...I feel like I have so many questions and don't want to keep calling the dr office for every little question I have...Thanks for your help.Jackie

Well what I can tell you is that no you can not add a banana to the shake....however I know of a whey protien powder from GNC they have banana flavored..I haven't tried it but its worth a try if it doesn't work out you can return it. And you should still be able to take the fiber pill...I still take all my pills. hope that helps

sugar free Carnation Instant Breakfast has fiber added to it now. You may find if you take supliments it is too much. I find the Sugar Free Carnation Instant Breakfast gives me a tummy ache (gas pains I belive) from the fiber. Sorry if that was TMI, but I thought I would warn you. :yikes:

Try just using some Sauer's flavoring, banana or lemon, coconut, etc. That way you can still keep your carbs down. You may think about buying in bulk if you can find one you like. I like the EAS(I get it from Sam's club) in 5/6 lb bag. You will be using alot of the Whey Protein Powder in the next couple of months. There are lots of Brands, and as many places to buy them. Just try and find one you like. The GNC is really expensive for the 1 lb bags, but they have lots of flavors. Walmart carries an Whey Protein I think now. Remember you will need anywhere from 50-90 grams Protein everyday, especially post-op for the healing phase. Good luck!:yikes:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
