Hi,

I wonder if you are glad you had it done? Why do you think the weight is coming off slowly? I am considering having the lap band but I am a big chicken. I worry about complications. I would be dissappointed if I lost slowly. I am not an active person but maybe if the surgery helped me loose weight, I would feel like being more active. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Martin

i think the weight is coming off slowly because i was not that much of a big eater in the first place...my diet before this last fill was pretty much like a weight watcher's program and that has never been successful for me.....but, i now have 4.5 cc's in since tuesday and i feel a big difference in the restriction....i'm sure that i will have lost something before my next appointment in 5 weeks....

as for complications, i had to have the surgery twice in two days because it was not installed correctly the first time...i also ended up back in the hospital overnight with an infection, but in spite of it all...i would do it again...this is the first successful option for me in 20 years!!!! i got to the point where i'm doing this for my health, not to please the world....

as far as getting moving ....try getting someone else to team up with ...i do much better when i am meeting a friend at the gym or for a walk....good luck:wink:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
