Has anyone had experience with the weight loss clinic in harrisburg,pa.? I beleive I will be seeing Dr. Dimarco or Dr. Currie.

Yes, just had surgery with them. :)

They are very professional and the hospital the surgery is performed in is wonderful. Only bit of advice is that if you are seeing Dr. DiMarco is bring a book because he is always VERY late. (once it was 3 hours!)

Hi there! I love the WLC in Harrisburg. I was banded on Nov. 19th, 2010. I am alittle over 2 months post op and have lost 32lbs so far. My surgeon was Dr. Rosenberger and he is WONDERFUL AND CAME HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FROM A NURSE I KNOW AT PINNACLE HEALTH. He has a great bedside manner and is very sincere!!! DR. ROSENBERGER IS A+....GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!

My surgeon was Dr. Rosenberger and he is WONDERFUL AND CAME HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FROM A NURSE I KNOW AT PINNACLE HEALTH. He has a great bedside manner and is very sincere!!! DR. I was banded in June and Dr. Rosenberger did my surgery too. He was great. I randomly had a fever just before I was suppose to have my surgery (I was in the gown and everything!) and the nurse was threatening to make me go home and reschedule. Dr. Rosenberger was very nice and helped me calm down (at this point I was freak out) and rechecked my temp a bit later and it was normal. I still don't know what caused it to go up (nerves perhaps?) but I'm so grateful that he was nice and left me stay and get my surgery!

While I loved him, I'm not so happy with the office staff at the Weight Loss Clinic. They sometimes seem so clueless. They have lost several faxes from my other doctors (Psyc, and PCP) and they've scheduled my husband for the wrong type of appointment on 2 separate occasions.

I too had my surgery done thru WLC, Dr. Prashar...I'm also not that thrilled with the office staff there, I called several weeks ago wanting to come back in sooner than my next scheduled appt. and was told by office staff that I couldnt because I was still in my 90 day period, whatever that meant! I have a appointment on March 28 at that time I will ask the doctor whose managing my care him or the office staff

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
