January 27 peoples where are you

Recommended Posts

Hi Carolina Mom,

I'm scheduled for the 27th too. I'm looking forward to a new way of life even if it changes my relationship with food. Goodness knows, it's time.

My pre-op doctor's appointment is the 21st. I think THAT will make it real.

Good luck with surgery. Let's chat again for support.

Great! I am getting ready too. I am nervous but ready. What time is your surgery. I go at 10:30 surgery at 12:30. I have already had my pre op and other visits. I had to an EKG at the hospital which was abnormal so I went to see a Cardiologist just to on the safe side. Just one more thing to worry about. I can't wait to lose so I can shop for smaller clothes. YA Ya. Keep in touch.

My surgery is at 10. My doc requires a 2-hour, pre-op class, which I will attend on Tuesday. I see the doc and have the EKG on Wednesday. Until then and until surgery that it's just drink, drink, drink my shakes. It's getting "real-er" by the day.

I started the post-op shopping but still have a few things to get. Last weekend I bought a sippy cup. That's the first time I've ever used one. Wow! You sure don't get much to drink. I'm glad I tried it before surgery so I know what to expect.

This will be a learning experience to take smaller bites and sips. I'm sure we'lll get the hang of it though.

Hi everyone. I'm scheduled first on the 27th -- 7:30 a.m. I'm glad I'm first so I don't have to sit around waiting. I had my pre-op appts. last week, started pre-op diet on 20th. Are any of you restricted from caffeine? And if so, do you know why? I read somewhere that they believe caffeine can cause you to binge eat. I just really love my one cup of coffee in the morning. But I've done okay on the pre-op -- it's amazing that after all these years I never understood that Protein makes you feel full. I'm using Unjury and Isopure protein powders. I am excited and can't wait to get this done and start my new life. I'm so exccited to know that Ill never have to lose this hundred pounds again -- I've done it before, and here I am -- but it's great to know we don't have to do it ever again. What a dream come true! Good luck to you all.

Try some Decaf coffee. I am still drinking my coffee. We have a week left. I am so ready to do this. I am glad it is not today we are getting some snow today. Now let spring come on.

I am using the EAS vanilla powder so I can make the flavor I want. I am using pineapple, sugar free, fat free ice cream, etc. to change it up some. I really don't mind the shakes at all.

I'm doing the same with my shakes - the non-fat vanilla ice cream just makes them so much creamier! I'm putting fresh strawberries in mine. Also have added sugar-free peaches, which is also yummy.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
