My surgury went fine. I didnt have any problems, just about no pain, the only thing was I got tried real easy for about 4 weeks but other than that it was so easy. I got my first fill 6 week later and I got the realize band which is 9cc band and the first fill they put in 4cc, then 4 weeks later they put in 1cc, then 4 weeks later they put 1cc, so a total of 6cc right now and get another fill Jan. 26th and I think that will get me where I need to be. As far as hurting to get a fill....no it does not hurt at all. The first time I let them give me the shot that deadens you and my husband got the lap band 6 weeks after I did and he didnt get deaden with his first fill and said it didnt hurt at all so I tried it and it didnt hurt at all. All you fill is a poke, just like you are getting a shot. The needle is big and it will scare you but I promise it will not hurt! Good luck and let me know how you feel. If you need to know anything just let me know.

Just a follw up met with DR. Miles for my consult. He was wonderful, went over my medical history, explained all the possible complications. Said, I was an easy patient. Now I have to go do all the many requirements for BCBS to cover. I will keep you updated. Again, I am very confident with Dr. Miles and his staff was excellent. God Bless!

Thanks for the info. I went for my psych eval, and it went great. I was terrified, that I would say something wrong. :scared2:DH said, you need to do the psych thing first, they might not let you go any further. LOL I also met with the Dr that determines whether or not you have sleep apnea, and I have to go for a sleep study.:) I am going tomorrow for my 4th weigh in. Good luck and God bless to everyone

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
