Are there any long timers that tracked their weightloss over the months/years and would be willing to share their data with us?

I think that there are some misconceptions about how much weight we should be losing and people are easily disappointed when they are actually doing a great job!

I am hoping that your data would help show how this process is long-term and how it takes time for it to come off!

Come on...I know there are some big losers out there!

I didnt track but I can tell you it averaged one pound a week or less and that most usually, I wouldnt lose for like 3 weeks, then 2 or 3 pounds would disappear overnight. It took me two and a bit years to lose 100lb, I have very little loose skin, it was a lifestyle change rather than a diet and i never needed to drop below 1500 calories a day and I exercises hard and consistently. Once I hit goal, I changed nothing. My weight loss just petered out, I didnt declare goal and 'stop dieting'. I do exactly the same to maintain as I did to lose.

Thank you so much for sharing!

So, I imagine the newly banded folks complaining "I only lost 12 lbs in 2 weeks" must really fire you up.

I have a graph as of 2/1/08. My journey started on 10/22/07, at 235, but this gives you a pretty good idea... and it is pretty slow...

I really love you graph you have. I think I'll start something like that too. Is there a site for those?

Angie- how did you get your weight ticker to show starting weight?

TickerFactory.com has the graph, attached to the ticker.... Just click on the link to your actual ticker page... and it will have a graph underneath the ticker.

Hi,

If you visit my blog (address in my signature), you can download my Excel spreadsheet with my weight loss data. It covers about a year of data.

Hope you find it helpful. If you have trouble downloading it, let me know and I'll email it to you.

My average over the time of banding was 1.43 pounds a week over the first 8 months until I became pregnant. I have to see if I can get a graph to post.

Here's my chart (so far):

wXPv17R.png?1232064967

I have lost a minimum of 3kgs (approx 7lbs) a month since being banded on the 1st of Aug 08.

I exercise a minimum of 4 times a week though (cycling and now running) but I don't count calories and I don't restrict carbs. I've had plateaus but nothing that's lasted more than a couple of weeks at most.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
