I started a YouTube video channel! Did YOU?

Recommended Posts

Since deciding to have Lapband surgery and starting the process of appointments and pre-op weight loss, I've been having a great time doing research and reading lots on this message board and watching YouTube videos.

I was so surprised to find that there is such an active weight loss surgery community there. I decided that it would be fun to start my own channel to document my weight loss journey. It'll keep me motivated and will also be so awesome to see my progress once I have surgery, lose weight and reach my goal.

If anyone here would like to check it out, here's the link:

YouTube - swish's Channel

If anyone has their OWN channel, will you post the link? I think it would be so fun to keep up with eachother's progress and help keep eachother motivated!

yes I've been watching youTube videos for weeks and have made several videos... none of which I've had the courage to upload yet. There's an incredibly vibrant WLS lapband and GB community on youTube. I will upload a video very soon. haha I've just subscribed to your channel. :-)

I am 4 days post op lapband. Still healing and getting rid of these gas bubbles, but overall doing great. I got on the scale this morning and was 13 lbs down (incl pre-op). I am so excited to see the changes in the next coming weeks. I've not told anyone I'm having surgery but my husband so I'm a little weird about putting up videos, but I think in the end I will absolutely do it. The community is too vibrant there to miss out on.

I started one! I figure today was a good day since I found out yesterday that my insurance has approved me! :sneaky:

So, now I have one lonely little video up on youtube. It can be seen here: Youtube - IamBmeTammy

For anyone that's on here and on there as well, please send me the links to your channels, I'd love to see how other people are doing!

Yay! I watched your video today but didn't make that connection that it was you until just now. I just put up my second video tonight. I'm gonna try to do a weight in update every Thursday and maybe one or two more during the week if there's anything relevant to share.

I'm excited! This will be so fun.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
