GrizGirl 0 Posted August 2, 2005 AND ITS' NAME IS RICE What the hell is up with that--This seems to be the only food that gets stuck!! I am not a big rice eater, but in the last week I have been in situations where I have been served rice (work functions)--I dutifully take a bite of chicken, chew the bejesus out of it, swallow it without any problems. Then I follow that up with a bite of rice. And then the pain, Oh God the pain. I've only done this a couple of times--I am a slow learner.
NJChick 3 Posted August 3, 2005 Guess the starch is to much for the tummy. From what I'm gathering here, white products seem to not want to go down like others. Lesson learned huh. (I'll have to remember that)
Mita 2 Posted August 3, 2005 I was watching a commercial about the new rice in a can mixed with Kidney or what ever Beans and first thought was wow that looks like something I would want to try then I remembered your post and said no way!
Boy's Mom 0 Posted August 3, 2005 Isn't it funny - I have absolutely no trouble with rice (in small quantities) which is a good thing I am a Cuban girl and we love our rice and Beans. Now on the other hand, the other day I had one of those Star Kist tuna in a pouch, which I chewed to death, ate two bites and pb'd. Go figure. Mayra
piercedqt78 658 Posted August 3, 2005 My post-op diet says rice can be difficult for 4-6 months. Something about it not going down the same as other foods. I will wait at least 6 months to test those waters.~Mandy
