tapshoes 2 Posted January 21, 2009 Glad to see you posting Peek. It is because I cannot trust myself alone that I come here; I need to have others rooting for me, helping me when I lapse, kicking me in the arse when needed. If I didn't have the LBT forum, I would truly be doing it completely on my own, and as I successfully fooled myself about my weight for decades, I would just continue to do so. Coming here and seeing everyone else (to quote Jachut) shutting their gob and shaking their ass helps me to get with it. I am hoping todays fill will be the 'push' I need; I waffled for several months about it, and then frankly finances didn't permit, but FINALLY I accepted I was worth the expense of the fill and realized I couldn't continue to lose (or stop gaining) weight without my band, so off to the big city it is for me today! Keep posting....
Ezma 2 Posted January 22, 2009 How did the fill go Tap? Do you have to do liquids for a day or two? Got my fingers crossed for you that it will be just what you need to get you going strong again.
tapshoes 2 Posted January 22, 2009 Let's see....good news/bad news. In the 3 months since I was last there (I told you it was a LONG time), I gained a pound. The good news is that it was only a pound (the clinic stats were most bandsters (over 8 months post-op) who have shown up in the cllinic since January arrived, gained 4 or 5 pounds. So, 1/4 cc fill and a new attitude should help moving that scale again. Now I really need to start working on my head hunger...
LilMissDiva Irene 3,282 Posted January 22, 2009 One pound is nothing. I gained 13 the last time I seen my doc. I've been losing ever since and I will probably be close to where I was when I started gaining when I see him again next month. One pound to me could even be something as minor as the clothes you have on that day, or being a little backed up. I really wouldn't even give it a second thought. Glad to hear you had a good fill! Hang in there.
tapshoes 2 Posted January 23, 2009 Thanks LilMiss. I know it isn't a clothing factor - I make sure I wear the same clothes! And I know it isn't a lot of weight, but still, seeing it as a gain was disheartening as well as motivating (I'm kinda perverse that way). So, I shall see what happens over the next few days. StLouisGal 1 Posted January 23, 2009 Thanks LilMiss. I know it isn't a clothing factor - I make sure I wear the same clothes! And I know it isn't a lot of weight, but still, seeing it as a gain was disheartening as well as motivating (I'm kinda perverse that way). So, I shall see what happens over the next few days. Don't beat yourself up. Like you said, it's one pound. Any other year I would have gained at least 10 over the holidays. This year I only gained 2 and they are already gone. One pound gain could be anything from a salty piece of ham or Soup to that time of the month. If it is consistently up for more than a day or two it might be time to take a closer look at food choices. Hang in there and keep up the good work. By the way, back to topic, I've been around, just not posting much. I find that I don't spend nearly as much time parked in front of the computer as I used to. I'm out enjoying life. It is a great feeling.

mhazelrigg 1 Posted January 25, 2009 OK, I will admit, it is harder to get on here when I am not losing. And since I haven't had a fill since last May, I haven't really been thinking about it. I am about 30 lbs until I reach my goal. But, I have gone down from a 24 to a 14/16. I am pleased, but I want to be more pleased. Another problem is, I have a serious issue with what my body looks like. When people tell me that they can tell that I have lost weight, I can still only see me as I was before. No matter how much I have lost, I see the same girl in the mirror. I am not sure that any amount is going to make me happy. Also, I can't seem to get enough calories in. I think that I am not losing because I am not eating. But I am not hungry. And I force myself to eat nuts and yogurt, but I am just not hungry. Any suggestions? tapshoes 2 Posted January 25, 2009 Hi Michele The body issue is one I can relate to. Those people close to me say they can see how different I look, how much weight I have lost etc. But I don't. Seriously, I do NOT see a difference. I recently got a really wild funky haircut with wild highlights and thought that the jolt of seeing that would force me to see a 'new' me....it hasnt. I look in the mirror and see me - no different, and yet I have lost weight, my body measurements are different, etc. I don't know what is the matter with me. I cannot relate to the not hungry; my issue was for months I was always hungry and trying to force myself to use only my discipline to stop mowing down everything in my path. That didn't work! I need the band to work with me, and this last fill is so far helping....but I know it is still up to me. You ae correct - eating too little in fact slows down the metabolism, and stops the weight loss. Have you tried supplementing your diet with Protein shakes and cheeses to ensure you get in the calories you need? We know that isn't the ideal solution, but you have to get in the calories, and if you don't have the appetite, then you don't stand much of consuming them. Keep posting Michelle; that's what this group is for - to help, or Celebrate or commiserate with each other.
