Where you get great protein shakes?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!

I have read on many threads some great sounding Protein Shakes, and I was wondering what brands they were and where you get them at. I buy the EAS ones, but they don't sound nearly as good as some of the flavors you all have mentioned. I am looking for something new- can you help me out?

My other question is, my packet says once I am on full solids I should not be drinking any Protein shakes. Yet everyone seems to be drinking them. What's the what?

I get my Protein supplements at the local Vitamin Shoppe, they also have a website Vitamins, Nutritional Health supplements & Herbal Remedies - VitaminShoppe.com

Worldwide shakes are my pick, they taste good and have 35 grams of Protein.< /p>

Search Results - VitaminShoppe.com

Different doctors have different programs. Mine was liquid Protein (broth, shakes, etc.) for two weeks pre-op, the same for two weeks post-op then mushies for two weeks.

i like to make my own, and use the following brands:

for chocolate - muscle milk

for vanilla - eas soy

fruity (for smoothies) - Syntrax nectar peach

i will add a tablespoon of: Peanut Butter / sugar free Jello pudding (cheesecake, pistachio, banana cream, butterscotch) / fresh fruits etc. to mix things up and change up the plain old vanilla Protein drink.

my dr wasn't a fan of Protein drinks early out. he wanted me to get my nutrients from food sources mostly - so i did. i have gotten into drinking a smoothie or Protein Drink lately after i did the pouch test & it's what i've been in the mood for - so i drink them.

not sure where - but you can do a search, there is a list of 200 Protein Drink ideas here to give you some ideas.

Thanks for the great ideas guys. I love the pudding idea. I have been using the drinks Hurley made me buy, so next week I am going to buy some Protein Powder and sugar free pudding mixes.

My favorite whey Protein powder is called "Whey Delicious" I never see it mentioned here, but I think it is so tasty! You can't get it at any stores, as far as I know, but you can get it directly from www.proteinishealthy.com. It is sweetened with stevia, and mixes easily. As far as the mixed message as to whether to drink protein supplements or not... it was explained to me that once the early liquid phases are over, your meals should consist of only solids BUT if you have not reached the proper of level protein for the day, you should supplement with a protein drink.

I use Focus 28. They are fairly new, but they off free shipping and their shakes are real good. They got smoothies and puddings as well.

They also have free giveaways and contests running all the time. I won a gift basket filled with so much stuff, it was really nice, I never won anything before. They have another one running now.

judy, i only need one scoop of Protein Powder for 8oz of skim milk (or Water if you like) - which would be 105 calories. my shakes are sometimes meals - sometimes snack ... after i add what i want to it; they usually come to 200 or so calories; which works fine for my calories per day.

jujuvee - i use one tsp of pudding mix; it can get too thick otherwise with some of them.

I buy Atkins RTD shakes at Walmart. The walmart where I live will have 6packs occasionally for the same price of a 4pack ($4.96), and I usually have a coupon for another dollar off. So it's a good deal. I don't buy then often, but if I see the 6pack I will. I use the vanilla as milk for my Kashi Golean Cereal. I also think we should be chewing our calories/protein and not drinking them!!

Hi There!

I am hoping to get banded soon, but have tried several different Protein powders for fitness and diets.

I really like

ON (Optimum Nutrition} Gold Standard whey powder. Double chocolate, chocolate Mint, Strawberry- Bananna, and even Egg Nog(with frozen bananna) was very tasty. I will actually have these for desert, instead of ice cream or other garbage....

Vitamin Shoppe Online usually has some great sales on this brand.

I like to add frozen Banannas, Strawberries, Blueberries, Ice Cubes, anything frozen and blend it up in my blender.

I also occasionally will use NOW brand whey powder, as it has the natural sweetener Stevia as it's sweetening agent, which my husband likes.

I just bought 2 lbs of Now Plain Whey Powder (from Vitamin Shoppe for 19.99) and it tastes exactly like Malted Milk powder and it is very fresh! So that was a nice surprise.... Anyway Hope this helps!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
