Question -Keeping Track of your Intake

Recommended Posts

I am having so much trouble losing ... I had my surgery on 2/28 and had good initial loss, but even though I'm up to 2.5 cc's, I seem to be stuck and haven't lost any weight in a month. I'm up and down the same 2 lbs. Iam now walking 1 mile 5 times a week (4 times around the high school track, who would have believed this 6 months ago!!). I feel I don't eat a lot, in fact have quite small meals, but I do have the tendency to "pick" throughout the day. A little piece of cheese here, a saltine there. I think I'm probably taking in way more than I tell myself I am. I'm very good at lying to myself. In the past I read about a website that keeps track and tells you how many calories you're taking in, but I searched around and couldn't find it. Could you guys help me out? I need to start losing again or I will lose my mind !!!!

Thank you so much!!!

Mayra

Thanks so much!!! I just posted what I've had this morning (it's only 10:45 am) and I've had 381 calories. NO WONDER. And my mile walked is only 37 calories???

Thanks for your quick reply!!

I know what you're saying but ... My doctor has a monthly post-ops support group meeting - we meet with a social worker and a nutritionist. Last month the nutritionist said we should be aiming for 800 calories. This sounds almost impossible to me!!!! I said so, and she told me this was during the first 6 months. That's why I feel like the band doesn't work for me since I can't consistently eat like that.

sounds like the nutritionist is giving you the RNY information. Or at least what I've heard is the RNY information. they have to loose as much as possible as fast as possible before their procedure stops working.

I use fitday.com also, but I've started carrying around a little folded up index card in my pocket (I usually wear pants). When I eat something, I write it down, even if it is a bite of something. It is hard to figure out how many calories a bite has, but I try, and then I list it as a Custom food, and at least try to include those calories.

Carrying a card around helps me to not "forget" the little things. Hope this helps, Cindy

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
