Hey, it's been a while!

Recommended Posts

Hi all, it's been a while scince I've posted anything here. The true is I hit a plateau. I wasn't losing or gaining. I even stopped going to the gym, which was a bad decision. I ended up gaining a few pounds over the holidays. At least it wasn't 10-15 like most holidays before.

Anyway, I've had two fills since last posting. I am now at 5cc's and I finally feel like I have good restriction. It feels like the second or third week after surgery. It's great, yet I have PBed several times since my last fill this past Thurday. I'm not chewing my food properly and I am still trying to eat too much. When I feel full I still take another bit or two and of course, I start to slim or PB. Sorry - TMI.

I hope this means I'm close to my sweet spot. I hoping to see some loss this week.

Welcome back. The Holidays were tough for me too. I decided to postpone my 3rd fill in December so I could enjoy. I now got my fill and am at 3cc's. I also PB more frequently. I need to adjust my intake and re-learn how to eat some foods. I think I'm getting closer to my sweet spot too. Good luck and keep exercising....

Good to "see" you again!

The holidays weren't too bad for me except I ate a lot of stuff that I'm not used to and felt a little sick! Didn't lose at Christmas (stayed the same) but lost (1lb) at New year's (shock!) and have since kept losing again, tho slowly.

Got another fill on the 6th and def. have restriction now. I'm up to 5.5cc (10cc band). I'm eating too fast and it hurts now! Also can't really eat in the AM. Don't really want too either so a shake is fine. We'll see what Friday's WI says for sure but it looks good at this point.

Anyway.

Don't disappear like that again! Not good for you! We all need the support.

Welcome back!

Glad your back!

It is funny to read how every one seems to be having the same issues at about the same time. It is so great that we have this forum to support each other!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
