Am I too tight? Or give it time?

Recommended Posts

my band is very tight, I can do fluids fine but other foods get stuck often and I wind up just burping alot and very uncomfortable... not throwing up anything, just a lot of saliva in my mouth and trying to make myself burp....

does anyone know if that is hurting me to burp so much? Nothing comes up just burping to move the food... Is it damaging to your band if food gets stuck often?

Update...I went to see the surgeon today. Since liquids are going down OK and aren't gurgling anymore, he said I had two options. 1) Do liquids until Friday and see how I do, then introduce mushies again. He is there all day Friday if I need to be seen 2) Get the .5CC taken out.

I chose to do liquids because he said as I lose weight it will get less tight. He said to just keep an eye on my urine that it doesn't get dark and to make sure I stay hydrated.

Ok i forgot to ask why are you watching for dark urine???? Is that a sign of being dehydrated?

Yes if we do not get enough liquids to flush the toxins from our system our urine will get really dark.Just to update my fill from Friday is tons better today so I feel you will be fine if you just give it a little more time.It always takes about a week for me after a fill for the swelling to go down and I can see where I am gonna be.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
