I was banded on fri 1/9 -yesterday I started having terrible gas, I'm sure that there are suggestions on here for getting rid of it, but I don' t have the energy to look. I've taken gasX and I'm walking in circles around my house.

The only advice I can give you is to walk and walk some more . Gas X didn't work for me the only thing that helped was to keep moving myself .

I still have terrible gas and I am 2-months post-op. I never had gas issues before. I walk to help move it along.

Thanks to a pre-op suggestion from the nurse at my doctors office I brought a hand held massager to the hospital with me. I also had my husband and son run the big electric massager over my back once I got home. I was banded Dec10th and very few gas pains. I would imagine the combination of all my walking and the massagers helped to get rid of it. That plus I drank probiotic liquid to get the beneficial bacteria back into my intestinal track after the surgery. Hope you are feeling your best really soon.

I had my Lap Band on 01/09/07. The gas is probably from the gas they filled you with when they put your band on. Walking is the best thing for it. Get the gas moving and out of your system. Congrats on the start of your journey!!

I would say walk also but 2-4 peppermint gas x strips worked really well for me, good luck and congrats.

I am really no help here but I take Gas x at least 5 times a day for gas. I am newly banded and I am still fighting the gas problems.

The gas-x didn't really help me with the gas after surgery. Walking is the only thing that helped me. I have also heard of using a heating pad on your upper back. I hope you feel better soon.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
