200 crunches- woke up with port pain

Recommended Posts

yesterday worked out with a personal trainer and felt decent as I did 200 cunches and 3 sets of holding a medicine ball and twisting (oblique excerise)

this morning, woke up at 6 a.m. with the kind of punched in the stomach feeling when I got the band put in ( March 08)

do you think I just overworked my muscles or did I do anything to harm my band or port?

possibility- I also just got a fill 2 days ago and it might be tender ?

the pain is a few cm above my port incision , which is right under where my clevage meets. It hurts to cough.

Maybe someone has some help here before I call my Dr. so I don't become the girl who cried wolf

okay you did 200 crunches so I'm going to go ahead ad say it...duh you have pain lol. Your port is stitched to your abdominal muscle so when you tighten and relax that muscle a lot you are going to have pain in it. I don't think you would have hurt it at all...maybe next time slowly work your way up to 50 then 75 then 100 then you get the idea  Way to go on the 200 though

I really think it was the obliques... I have been working out with a trainer and he pushes me hard- which is what I need!

He says this is what I need to help get stronger and tone the belly fat.....

I have had my infamous pot belly since I have been 8 years old!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
