I have to start by saying thank you for this site. I am still thinking about the band and I am making an appointment with my PMD for a consult. I am scared, excited and just plain confused. I have been looking thru pics and forums and getting most of my questions answered and even ones I did not think about..lol. The one question I do have but have not found an answer to is...can you see or feel the access port?

In the beginning I would have to lie on my back, lift my legs in the air and really poke around to find it amongst all my stomach fat. Now that I have lost weight I can find it easily in any position. I can not see it but I have heard that in some cases after all of the weight is gone, the port might become visible. It can be relocated or replaced if that happens and it bothers you.

I cannot feel my port. I could feel it if I pushed really hard and dug around for it and I am 3/4 way to goal. Maybe if I was 110 pounds and had washboard abs I would know it was there.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
