Hi there,

You sound like you need some help. Perhaps I can provide some of it?

Check me out by visiting my blog/images etc in my signature and if you think I could be of use then let me know.

Your post talks about your weight loss so far - perhaps you could give more details. For example, do you exercise regularly, what is your fill situation etc.

Take care and get in touch by email if you want to.

I have a 4cc band. I was doing pretty good but hit a plateau last year... didn't gain though, just stayed the same. Then I had another fill and was up to 3.75. I had really bad acid reflux and was having trouble even drinking Water. They took out Fluid to 3.25. Since then I have been able to drink fluids and can eat most foods, but was feeling full quickly. Now, I can have seconds and I find I am craving the bad stuff, like Cookies. I try to keep it in check but find I am eating when stressed, which is all the time.

I try to eat the Protein first like they say, I drink Protein shakes, but am back to grabbing one or two of the Cookies that are always out at work. I am getting depressed and discouraged... feel like a failure.

I see you had two surgeries, how come?

Hi,

I made rules when I was learning to eat again. One of them was never to go back for seconds. That was what got me in to trouble in the first place. I suggest that you don't go back for seconds - ever.

Are you eating slowly? Thoroughly chew your food and take your time.

As for craving the bad stuff - well in my case that was never done. I just made the decision not to eat certain foods - bread, chocolate etc. If you must eat, eat fruit - I eat apples and bananas. They are much healthier. Take fruit to work with you. Also, get rid of the bad foods from the house - stick them in the bin. I eat the same food as everyone else here, no special diets or calorie counting. I just use Portion Control.< /p>

The most important message is that you are not a failure! It's common to have setbacks, the trick is how you overcome them. See your weight loss in perspective to the rest of your life. It's important that you try to enjoy your weight loss. Have you had any NSVs?

I had two operations because the tube between port and band became detached. My second operation resited the port and replaced the tube.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
