Hi there,

I was banded Dec. 31st and I am so glad to hear of others having the same issues that I am. I have lost 44lbs since then but for the last month things have pretty much stopped. 2lbs in all...thats it.

I'm so frustrated and I know that losing the 44 is great and that its just a plateau but geez....

I also have the sweet tooth but I have to manage it by not giving in at all most of the time b/c once I start thats it.

I also am really liking my nightly bowl of chips! ARGH I hate it.

I had to have a small unfill b/c of reflux which I am still dealing with. NO matter what I eat I have this throat clearing thing happening for a long time after. But I am hungry a lot of the time. I cant really eat certain things b/c lots of stuff gets stuck. I am sick of getting stuck too. Sometimes things go down easy and then the same food gets stuck next time.

Very frustrating.

Some days I wish I had chosen the GB as well. I know there are other issues with that procedure that I dont have to deal with now but at least you dont get food stuck all up your esophogus and PB etc....

Its not the easy way out by any means!

Looks like no one has posted in awhile. I too have sweet cravings & usually it is late at night.....in fact last night. I usually keep chocolate fudgecicles that are 0 fat/80 calories & eat that, but still wanting more. Good news is even though I get stalled for a week or 2, I am still losing. Had several pants altered & got some capris for summer in size 14. Been a long, long time since I have seen a 14. Best news of all is that I am now off blood pressure meds, dr decreased my thyroid pill to half dosage, do not have to take Prilosec & all blood work in normal ranges. Lots more energy....I used to think I had fibromyagia or something because I had body aches all the time. Now it looks like that being obese.

Oh, and this week I felt my port for the first time. It was sorta scary when I touched my stomach & felt it. Now I have to quit putting my hand there. Maybe it is because my stomach has gone down now & easier to feel.

Hope everyone is doing well.

My biggest problem has been cracking that 200lb barrier.

My port has become fairly promient, having a hairy stomach helps conceal it along with the scars, but if you look close enough, and very few people do, it is noticable. I may go to my first Water park late next month.

Yeay, on going to the Water park BillOH! I went out on the boat with friends but it was a little to chilly to actually swim.

As for my port, I have what is called a low profile port, I can feel it, if I'm laying flat on my back, but any other time I can't.

But I'm still struggling with Portion Control. My biggest concern is stretching the pouch, how and when do you know?

Again, I have not lost not even an ounce in over a month now, TRUE I have not gained either. But I'm getting worried that my pouch is stretching.

Good Luck all you December Diva's!!!!

FYI, the water park isn't far from you in Erie  That is where I am from. Its been so cold there lately we may just stick to the regular amusement park, they have reconstructed an old coaster that I want to ride.

Lisa, I'm like you. I haven't even tried steak because I have had difficulties with even chicken & fish. Chicken has to be very tender or I get stuck. Very little ground beef either; just in Soups. I am at a plateau right now; not going either direction, but staying the same is better than gaining any day. Not having my old standard Dr. Pepper has not bothered me at all; no bread is not a problem; but sweets.....wow, do I crave sweets. Nights especially. Haven't been doing so great w/the exercise so I have got to get with the program again. Slacked off during the summer. But hey I did lose a pound the week of vacation from walking on the beach!

Hope everyone's okay. Posts are few & far between here.

I find steak even easier than chicken. At least the moister cuts, filet mignon and NY Strip are easy for me. For sweets, I buy the dove dark chocoloate minis. Only 4g of sugar each, I take two in my daily lunch bag to work, one for the morning and one for the afternoon.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
