Well Jan 4th I am 1 month post op from LAP-BAND® Surgery and I am down 36 pounds!!! :) I'm really excited about it. My clothes are getting lose, and everyone is commenting me at work. I feel so much better about myself. I'm going to give myself a Valentines Day challenge to lose another 14 pounds. This way I will be 50 pounds even! Its funny how when you are so obese, it seems like you will never lose your first 10 pounds. But now that the weight is comming off, I can say and finally believe that I CAN do this. I will post pictures up as soon as I can. yay me!!!

Awesome job!!!! Keep up the good work! It took me 2 months to lost 36 lbs. and I'm happy as can be with that (that's including the 10 day pre-op diet, LOL!). That's a lot of weight to lose in a month!!!!!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
