Cheshire Medical Center Banders out there?

Recommended Posts

I went to the last meeting but hadn't been banded yet. I won't go this week because I have an all day appt there on Wednesday for another issue and then see Hima on Thursday.

I'm feeling pretty good. Probably overdid it today. I went to the Sox game.

I tried my first puree today. But it was pretty basic -- my husband is a gourmet cook and made his amazing potato Soup. So I blended 3 oz with a half oz of horseradish cheese.

OMG, it was amazing. I am ready for something that doesn't taste like berries (waters, yogurts, juice pops, etc.)

Hi I'm fairly new to the site and have an appointment with Dr. Dupuis on 3/11 .... final step in the process and will get my surgery date then, I'm hoping to have it done by late March or early April!

I was so excited to find this forum. I'd welcome any feedback on the surgery, post op, and my doctor :)

Congrats to all who have been banded I hope everyone is doing well!

HI

I had my surgery by Dr. Dupuis on 5/1/2012, and had my first fill of 3cc on 5/30/2012. I am currently at 6cc and getting another fill on Monday. I am not sure on the actual weight loss since I started the process but I will ask at my next appointment.

It was a smooth process for me and I am loving the fact that I am loosing weight!!! I am fitting into clothes that I havent been able to in years.

Good Luck to anyone who is thinking about getting LapBand and it was the smartest thing I have ever done!!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
