MommyJD 4 Posted June 22, 2009 How :unsure:many cc:s do most of you have in your bands to be at the "sweet spot?" I've had 7 fills, and am now pretty close to my sweet spot with 11 ccs in a 10 cc band. (My doc says it can actually go up to 13 and not to worry about it). I didnt have any restriction at all for the first 4 or 5 fills until it was over 10 in a 10 cc band. Still surprised to hear Pete say he gets restriction with 5 ccs. Isnt it weird how much variation there can be?
sue in ne 1 Posted June 23, 2009 MimmyJD, i, too, have a 10cc band and am somewhere around 6cc ( on my 3rd fill, the PA decided I was obsessing about it so he would not tell me. - :unsure:All i did was ask the size of my band and how much was he adding) The Sweet Spot, to me is the sensation of being full, still being able to eat some foods, without feeling hungry nor too full. It's almost in balance.
Veronica72 0 Posted June 26, 2009 Woo Freakin' Hoo! I'm down 5 lbs. from last week. *Happy Dance* I got a small fill yesterday, too. .75 ccs.
Florida Pete 1 Posted June 26, 2009 First off congrats Veronica on your great progress! It feels great to be losing more then a pound or two! I have to say it is amazing how some people can have one or two CC's and hit their sweet spot while others pretty much fill their band full before hittin their sweet spots. For me I got another CC of Fluid into my band on Monday so I am at 5 CC's now. I do have a 10 CC capacity band. But I do feel a decent amount of restriction. I had a scrambled egg and two slices of bacon for Breakfast this morning and I feel completely stuffed. I actually have a hard time imagining how much more restriction I would have if I had 10 CC's. LOL Well for me this week I lost another 4 pounds! WooT!
sue in ne 1 Posted June 27, 2009 (edited) Congrats Veronica!! everyone is different. I keep have to reminding myself the band is only a tool- i have to do the work- meaning stick to the diet, and no grazing ( I'm a terrible grazer!) But have found other things to do instead of eat. (Housework only if I'm desperate!). The fills will increase as we lose weight , so am more concerned about amount of miles walked, Protein, calories, NSVs, and the scale. BTW, am down 1# this week to 235. ( Any loss is a win!) Edited June 27, 2009 by sue in ne
denal8 0 Posted June 28, 2009 I haven't posted in a while but I have stayed the same. I am feeling restriction but I am not quite at my sweet spot. I am finding it hard to find the time to workout. I have a stationary bike, treadmill and pool at home and still can't seem to get motivated. I go back for a fill July 13th and hopefully it will be a good loss for me. I go on vacation Wednesday and am a little worried about eating the right things. I hope everyone has a good week and a safe 4th of July Holiday.
denal8 0 Posted June 28, 2009 Oh I forgot to add that my goal for July is 5 pounds. My weight loss is slow so I will have a low goal and maybe be able to met it this time.

als74 1 Posted July 6, 2009 I want to encourage you all to keep working hard. This is a very frustrating stage when everything slows down, and fills get more complicated. I know I am having a rough time with the sweet spot, but I think I have found it. Thought I might have to go in for an unfill, but then realized I wasn't eating right. I am down to 222-221, going back and forth. I have just stepped up my exercise routine to include yoga. Big difference, and got me over the 225 hump I was stuck on. Started Adipex also, which really helps. One actaully lasts me two days! I don't really need it for the appetite supressant, just the energy boost, but is is great! Remember, even if you stop loosing weight, think about the constant gain you have had your whole life. If you are no longer going in the up direction, your band has been worth it!
