Minxz 0 Posted January 1, 2009 What are they looking for when they do the pre op blood work?
TQUAD64 9 Posted January 1, 2009 Well for me they were looking at white blood cell count and anemia...plus any other Vitamin deficiencies. And they check my thyroid levels.
RestlessMonkey 7 Posted January 1, 2009 Best to ask your surgeon what they check for. They took 5 vials from me; they checked all kinds of things. Liver thyroid kidneys cholesterol triglycerides blood sugar WBC, RBC, platelets, etc etc etc.
CountryGirlNY 0 Posted January 1, 2009 And if you're a smoker, they are probably going to check for nicotine - if your dr. is a stickler like mine about quitting. I got my date pushed because I didnt quit when I said I was going to. I'm scheduled for Jan. 22nd now and havent had a cigarette since Dec. 5th appointment when they told me they were changing my surgery date. It was originally Jan 5th. Best of luck to you! Minxz 0 Posted January 2, 2009 Thank you. I was thinking of doing a cleanse that I do every once in awhile but was not sure if that will change the results of my bloodwork.
