Ideas: What do you do for yourself at each goal?

Recommended Posts

I haven't thought about rewards for reaching goals but it is a great idea. I think a neat trip would be in order. I loved the link to Galaiee and California. What are some other neat places you guys have been to or want to go to?

I used to treat myself to $1 worth of scratch-off (lottery) ticket for every time I made it to the gym. So if I went every day after work, I treated myself to a $5 ticket on Saturday. An inexpensive treat that often paid for itself and required no special planning or trips. (Here in Maryland they have scratch-off vending machines in the grocery stores.) My nutritionist also suggested buying myself flowers.

That's a great prize. I went scuba diving a few weeks ago... it's easier for me because I don't have my own gear, I just rent. I can't wait until I need less than 20 lbs on my weight belt... that will be a prize in and of itself!!!

I'd actually like to get a Wacom Intuous (sp) to start with. A while back I REALLY wanted a tablet PC, but as my drawing has been dwindling, I'm afraid that it'd be a waste of munny. Of course, if I got one, I might be prompted to draw more... LOL

;) Last time I looked, Toshiba had a really nice one. Maybe I'll go put together my dream Tablet PC and see how much it's gonna cost me :)

I believe Mari means a tablet PC and not the wacom digitizer

Oh man am I out of it!! Sheesh! Turn your back on technology for one friggin minute!!

I'd never even heard of those things. But basically, they're just a wacom on top of a notebook computer, right?

Sarah, PM me your address and I'll mail you a Wacom. Seriously, FREE TO YOU. All you have to do is download the drivers online (I'm sure that can be done). Ya just have to promise to create a DeLarla drawing to share with us.

You Mac or PC?

This is a really good idea! I don't have an exact plan yet, but pedicures, sexy lingerie, massages, and all that girly-make you feel pretty stuff will be on the list for sure.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
