Getting Ready For The Band

Recommended Posts

Having surgery first week in April. My name is Greg and I'm from Alabama (Roll Tide Roll). I work in maintaince and I'm 40 yrs. old.

I weighed 342 back in october but i'm down to 314 (310 before the christmas dinner that I tried to eat everyyhing in sight).

I've been reading the threads for a couple of months but I decided that reading wasn't enough because if you actually post your weight you will work harder to loose it . Support does help but your the one that has to work at it.

The post you had about the competition was great. It gets that competative drive going.

I have 3 months 1 week to surgey and the real journey begins. I'm trying to loose all I can before surgery but after surgery the competition is on. I plan on kicking butt and taking names. lol

Hope everybody had a great Christmas and wishing you a hppy new year.

Hang in there, Greg.

For me, I was one who could lose - my problem is that I couldn't keep it off. My hope is that the band will help me keep it off. It is definitely making it easier to lose.

Glad you're here, stick with it, and I, for one, am looking forward to you challenging me... who knows, I might not be as easy to take down as I see.

Looking forward to the challenge!

Keep up the great work Greg!! I also really concentrated on losing as much weight as I could pre-op. I know that it really helped me mentally as far as staying on track post-op. What I mean is, I know I wasn't starving in my head as bad as some folks are or were post-op because I had been "dieting" since my initial office vist to set up my Lap-Band procedure. My doctor made me lose 10% of my body weight prior to my surgery. My initial weight on my first vist to my doctor was 376 lbs. So I had to lose a minimum of 37 lbs between September 21, 08 and December 04, 08 (surgery date). My doctor requires this of all of his patients. If you don't lose the weight (or REAL close to the required loss) he moves your surgery date out further until you lose the weight.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
