Hello,

I live in Northern Jersey, but also have a summer home down in Ocean Beach, so I'm very familiar with Toms River. I am 34 years old, have three children, three c-sections, and weigh 240. I am attending a seminar on January 8th. I have been to a seminar years ago, but the day after I attended, I found out I was pregnant with my 2nd child, then had a third right after that. So, now I am ready to change my life. I think the only thing I am scared about is not waking up from the surgery or complications. Actually, my biggest fear is getting put to sleep, lol! I have three friends who two of them had the lap band and one had gastric. The two with the lapband lost about 50 pounds so far, and the one with the gastric, well, let's just say, she's a new women! She lost 142 pounds and even participated in a commercial on News12. My husband does not want me to have this done, but I really want to. He's concerned about the risks and told me that I can lose weight on my on my own, but I told him that It's been years and I can't do it on my own. He can eat anything he wants and still stay the same. I need help. I just want that feeling of hunger to go away. I want to walk on the beach, not covered up. I want to have more energy and be healthy for my kids. Plus, I want to be able to not wear oversized clothing just so my love handles don't show. Take care, Oblava

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
