alfie858 0 Posted December 24, 2008 (edited) I had surgery on the 14th Nov this year, it all went well and had no probs. I had a fill 12th December same again no probs. I was out on Saturday and i noticed like a pulling/biting/nipping pain when i raised my arms above my head or reached far for something. I ignored it as it was very little pain. On Sunday and right through to today it has been very painfull. It actaully brings me to my knees if i touch a certain area on my side. It does not hurt and i cannot find the painful area when layed down. So It feels muscular or like the port has moved position slightly. It hurts more when i walk and if say for example i pull up my tracksuit bottoms higher to give it more support so my gut does not move. It seems to be less painful. I am in no way worried about it yet as i have a consultation and fill date of 8th January and i can put up with it till then. I just would like to know if anyone else has had a similar problem that can share any solution. I have taken anti inflammatory and cocodmol today for the pain. JennBand08 0 Posted December 24, 2008 Yes! I had this very thing at around the same time out from surgery. I was banded 9/4, and just before Thanksgiving I was concerned enough that I paid a visit to my surgeon's office. I too thought maybe my port had moved or something. It just felt different, and I was feeling soreness/pain. They checked me over and said I was fine, that it was just likely a layer of muscle healing. Or that I had slept on it funny and irritated it. It lasted a week or so and then disappeared. I was advised to take Motrin with food if the pain bothered me that much. Hope this helps...
mgirl 0 Posted December 24, 2008 I had pain around the port area the other day. I am 6 weeks post op. I had a fill yesterday and talked to the doctor about it. He said that sometimes the port area can just get irriated and hurt. I exercised a couple of days before it started to hurt so I think I may have over done it. It stopped hurting a couple of days later.
