Heated and Moisturized Gas into stomach?

Recommended Posts

My doctors said that there is a relatively new technology that allows them to add heat and moisture to the gas before using it to inflate your stomach. Supposedly, this helps to minimize the pain caused from the gas after surgery because it doesn't irritate your insides as much. Anyone have their doctor use this technique and did it help? I'm worried about the gas pain because I had that when I had a C-section and I just remember the shoulder and back pain from the gas pain was worse than the incisions and Gas-X didn't touch it!

Thanks,

I haven't heard that but some surgeons will also suck out as much gas as they can after the operation and that helps too.

I like the idea of being partially deflated as well instead of letting it work its way out naturally.

If heated and moisturized gas helps it would be worth it. There is definitely gas pain and anything that can minimize the pain safely is worthwhile.

I was "deflated" after surgery and really didn't have all that much gas. My gas was minor but gasX didn't help at all. I used MOM to get my system going and that helped a lot.
