Lowest price in Oregon

Recommended Posts

If there is anyone in Oregon that is a self pay, I do believe

Dr. Steven Tersigini is the lowest price in Oregon. He is charging

10,000.00 for lap band surgery.

His website actually quotes $12,500 for self pay in the surgery center. They told me it's $17,000 if you have to have the procedure in the hospital (50+ BMI requires this). Also his practice, Bay Bariatrics, is a Center of Excellence.

Thanks,

He lowered his price recently to 10,000. His nurse told me. She asked me to post it on Lap Band talk. If you have to have it done in the hospital, that's another story. He has no control over what the hospital charges for their portions.

I will let them know the web site is still showing 12,500

I had my band surgery 09-02-08 by Dr. Mirande in Klamath Falls. He has a package price of $9,999 which includes 2 fills and overnight at Sky Lakes Medical Center. He and his staff are highly professional and I reccommend them.

I am very frustrated right now because I have almost no restriction after 2 fills and he charges $450 per fill using floroscope. I'm not placing blame but I think any doc should include fills til we hit the "sweet spot" so we get what we paid for in the 1st place.:hurray:

Dr. Tersigni gives 3 fills with the price of surgery. After that they are $160.00 Everyone that has been coming to support group has said they have their sweet spot by the 3rd fill. He has a physician's assistant that really takes a long time to give a fill, and he says he can tell by the way the needle is reacting if it's right where it needs to be. He has also come to support group and spoke and is very knowledgeable as he also has a degree in nutrition. He takes a long time with each patient for their office visit when they come for fills, answering questions, etc.

I am shocked to see people looking for the "best price" shouldn't the first concern be the best doctor. By the post I am reading it is ending up costing a lot more that thought up front anyway. I am really shocked that people will go under the knife at all cost these days.

At the risk of sounding defensive..... I am looking for an AFFORDABLE fill, not the best price necessarily. I don't know what each person's budget allows but I thought that @$12,000 would buy me the tool I paid for, not a bottomless pit of future fills. Please share your experience.:)

I hope to make everyone here a better consumer.

I have went to several seminars in my area with my mother in law to find to gather information and to do research on doctors. I have also considered the lap band for myself. I have noticed the same group of women/men at the meeting I go to with the same questions about the money and all. I am by far not rich or well off. I live week to week. My insurance does not cover this procedure. By the time I got to this thread I was a little upset. So many people just want a quick fix. Most of us didn't get this way over night and we aren't going to get to our goal weight over night. You also get what you pay for. In the end most of the clinics are going to be about the same when it is all said and done give or take $1000.00. My life is worth a lot more than $1000.00.

My mother in law is looking at doing the procedure where it is done as outpatient. Kinda scarey if you ask me!:frown:

I had it done as an outpatient. There was nothing to it. I had it done at 8am and by 11 am I was home posting on lap band talk. I have had dental work that was much more painful that this surgery. I really never could even tell I had surgery.

I think Dr. Tersigini's price of 160.00 per fill is going to be about the cheapest anyone can find in Oregon. Kelly Fitzpatrick is in Eugene and Portland and last I heard, she is 160.00 also.

RAMS0509, I would agree with you that price is certainly not the criteria upon which I would want to select a surgeon. I have selected Dr. Tersgini based on his standing as a Center of Excellence, which is not an easy bar to meet. It is nice that he is so competitively priced. Also, if you continue reading Oregon posts on this forum and others you will find he comes highly recommended. It is not difficult to find positive reviews of the Dr. as well as his staff and if you are watching results, many of his patients are experiencing success in reaching their "sweet spot", an essential element of long term weight management. I wish you luck in your research. Keep reading. Kimberly

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
