Need to Poop - constipation

Where do you get this tea? Is it in a regular grocery store?

Yes, I notice recently it's a bit more difficult to find so when that happens I get Triple Leaf Dieter's Tea--has pretty much the same effect.

I took Milk of Magnesia and it got me going, but the stools were so hard it still hurt coming out. I called my doctor and he told me to use benefiber first and then if that doesn't work go to Miralax. I've drank apple juice almost every day and that didn't help either. I guess it sounds like this is something else I have to work through and find the right combination for my body. Thanks for all the suggestions. I really appreciate the help.

That is why I take stools softners. They work very well.Miralax puts Water into the stool and so do the stool softners. It's true that you must drink a lot of water for either one of them to work properly.

I take colon cleansers from the health food store regularly. That's the only thing that works for me and I am very thankful they do as I have to take pain meds regularly!! Right now I am taking Colone. It is an all natural dietary supplement. It has a variety of roots, barks, and seeds, but I think the Cascara Sagrada is the ingredient that works really well. I guarantee you will have no more problems with Constipation if you take it! It also keeps the weight loss going.

I drink gallons of water and have taken the stool softeners alone, but the stool softeners won't help if nothing is moving!

Got myself finally regulated. It was my lack of Water that was the problem. Whoever said it was right. It wasn't moving so when I increased my water consumption, it was a lot easier and less painful to discharge the waste. I'm feeling much better these days. I still hate water, but I drink it because I hate feeling the pain in the end worse.:)

Try 5 dried apricots each morning.

This will keep you regular.

Just make sure and chew the heck out of them!

They are tasty and do the job naturally!

There is a thread somewhere on here and they really do work.

I do this faithfully!

They work!

I tried the dried apricots and I love them but they don't work me. Prunes either. After about 5 days of Miralax, I will finally go.

It is no longer a prescription. Expensive though.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
