You too??? I was banded on November 3, 2005 and have also lost 80 pounds! What a small world!

I had follow up here in the U. S. & everything is exactly where it should be. In fact the Dr. that did my fill said the placement was perfect.;)

My follow up doctor told me that they have changed where they originally placed the ports to putting them where mine was placed. I guess they were really impressed with mine!

Kudos Dr. Huacuz!!!:clap2::clap2:

Finally I’m schedule to have surgery with Dr. Huacuz on Nov. 1

Excellent! He banded me too! That's almost my bandiversery (Nov. 3)! You will find that the clinic is new, clean and up to date. The doctor is caring, professional and very skilled. Even though I was in a foreign country I didn't feel nervous at all because the staff put me at ease. In fact I was more ready to get banded than nervous. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about Dr. Huacuz and the clinic.

It is so amazing how much easier banding makes the life style changes. Of course it is only a tool, but what a tool! I have told friends that it feels like my brain got banded along with my stomach. LOL!

Hang in there!

I contacted the dr Huacuz office to get information about the surgery, the cost, the care, etc. Dr. Huacuz called me personally which really surprised me, as I had never had a US physician do that. We talked about specific things about the surgery and he answered all my questions.He is awesome! Very funny, friendly and professional date of my surgery is in oct 20 Huacuz Surgical Center

Alphaelle- you will not regret your choice, Huacuz is a great doctor. Just do what you're told and the surgery and lapband will be a breeze- oh and my best advice to you is CHEW. Chew a lot and then chew some more. You'll remember me in a couple of weeks! :-)

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
