I am a newbie. Well, a newbie in the sense that I'm finally going to introduce myself and stop lurking around the site :shades_smile:. I am due to be banded on December 23rd by Dr. Hart through Trueresults. I have a multitude of emotions at this moment. I scared, excited, nervous, doubtful, etc. I've been overweight so long, that it's hard to imagine that I could ever have an "After" picture. Everything happened so quickly (I'm a self-pay) and it's finally hitting me that...this is really it. I have a chance to change my life and become a healthier me. The part of me that has dieted and gained it back has me scared of failure. After reading different posts, I see that it's a natural feeling. I am currently on a two week preop diet, which I have had my challenges with.

Sorry for the rambling....

I only hope that I will be able to post the great numbers that you have. Confidence, then action!!!! I can do this!

      Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
      What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
