Best lotion to try a little to avoid saggy skin?

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies,

I have alot to lose and I'm a littel worried about how I'm going to look after I'm done. Is there a lotion recommended to use that can maybe help a little with giving skin elasticity?

I'm also an exsmoker and I'm worried that I did a number on my skin. I'm not sure it bounces back after you quit. Does anyone know?

Thanks so much!

Your avatar does not show your age which has a lot to do with it. From the beginning I accepted the fact that at 39 years old, I was going to have some loose skin. My upper thighs and upper arms do have extra skin and no amount of lotion would have kept me from having at least some.

I have been using Olay Quench with Shea butter and I think it is fantastic I could see the improvement after using it twice a day for around two weeks. I use their soap too.

I did see improvement in my facial skin soon after quitting smoking. It was healthier looking and others noticed it too. But I have since lost 71 pounds and my facial skin is a little looser...not saggy but looser than when I weighed 234.

I have this scary little thing on my neck that I am hoping will snap back, not exactly a waddle but almost. It does not stand out too much but I know it is there and it REALLY bothers me. I also use Olay face products (Regenerist) and I have been slathering that stuff on hoping it will help. It does make it appear to go away when I first put it on then several hours later it comes back.

I'm 41. I know it's totally vain and dumb of me to be but I've always thought my face was really pretty and I'm so afraid it's going to just get saggy or jowly or something awful when Ilose weight.

Vain or not, it is a legitimate concern. I was worried about it too. We are close in age and my face isn't as tight as it was when there was a bunch of fat but it doesn't look saggy either and I am not too far away from goal now so I don't see it getting too much worse (due to weight loss anyway ). Overall I look MUCH, MUCH better without the weight.

Hi, if thats ur pic here, you look fabulous for 41! I have always been compliemnted on how pretty I am and I am nervous too about how my skin will look. Anyway, skin elasticity involves a lot of factors: your age, your genes, the amount of weight you lose and how quickly you lose it, and if you exercise. I have better skin elasticity than a lot of younger, thinner people. It really depends. My mother had great skin elasticity. I also noticed that if you lose weight at a slow, steady pace, your skin might not sag so much. Exercise really helps as you lose weight too. Alos, I have read in numerous articles that you should wait at least a year and a half after youve lost all of your weight to give your skin a chance to get used to your new body and alot if will bounce back. But, I heard on here about some great creams. One of them can be bought at the Bath and Body shop and it is call "Bring up the rear". You can use it on arms, legs, neck and it smells great. Also, Palmer's brand makes a whole line of lotions and creams for firming up skin. I havent tried any of them, but a lot of people here have suggested both of them. Good luck to us all!:)

I find shea butter helps the skin alot! Bath & body works is awesome and I love the Body Shop.. if you have dry skin especially !!! They have a product line called African Spa and it has tons of shea, olive oil, cocco butter.. stuff is incredable

All the factors are unique for you. You're right, as an ex smoker, you've done damage to your skin but you may naturally have better skin than the next person. There's just nothing but time will tell how your skin is going to react to weight loss.

One thing's for sure. Nothing you put on it will stop loose skin, but there's nothing but good to come of keeping your skin in great condition.

Not sure any amount of lotion is gonna make our skin(s) bounce back at this point! I was a smoker too, quit almost 2 years ago..As far as my skin goes, both of my kids weighed OVER 9 pounds, beyond stretched.Oddly enough though, I have a tiny waist, and have always had..Not sure why.I can't buy pants without them bagging in the back. Also, depends on how much weight we have all put on too, it may be way to stretched out and age has alot to do with it too, and the most important factor is heritage..I have used face creams since my early 20's so I'm not too worried about that..But I am already looking into arm lifts..When I wave(which I rarely do) they keep right on waving, lol! They actually aren't as bad as they were but still got wings..If you or anybody finds this miracle lotion, please inform me too..LOL!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
