december 19th is fast approaching

For us that are being banded on december 19th, goodluck to everyone!! I hope that all goes well with everyone!! I leave tomorrow and will be spending the night with my bf cheryl in superior wi. she will take me to the hospital on friday if all goes well will stay with her one more night then she will bring me back home to ashland wisconsin. My surgery is scheduled for 8:30 am sounds like I will be the 1st one of the day.

goodluck everyone and I will keep everyone posted on my progress when Im up too it!!

Hi Jewels! Just wanted to wish you and all Dec Bandsters 2B this week well, steady surgeon hand teams and smooth recoveries!

Been reading your posts, and u seem well prepared...but who am I but a December Diamond in the rough...only one week out! Hehe.

The support, hints/helps and encouragement on our boards have been great...will be looking for your return! Of course what they have kept typing, Water, Walking and Well Wishes w/ no gas pains!:shades_smile:

I'm totally ready! I'll be staying the weekend at my MIL's for rest and recivery. She's a great nurse :ohmy:

jewel41 i wanted to say a prayer for you and all the other people being banded today.

heavenly father we come before you today and ask you to watch over all the people that are being band today and ask you to protect them while under and help them to recovery in good health and spirit. amen.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

      Woohoo! I have 7 more days till surgery, So far I am already down a total of 20lbs since I started this journey.
