I have a really large bruise about the size of my foot under my belly button near my pubic bone. Did anyone else experience this post op? I have the regular bruises around my port and incision but the one by my pubic bone has me concerned.

I have never heard of that before in the thousands of threads I have read. It seems like it is in an odd location to be band related if you don't even have any incisions near that spot.

Holy smokes! Are you sure they didn't drop you off the table?

I had a large bruise on my left hip after surgery - after seeing a series of photos taken during surgery -I figured it was from one of the tools they used to retract my liver- I could see the tool in the picture. Maybe your bruise is from that?

I too had a huge bruise by my left hip! I mean huge -- like the size of a baking potato. My husband and I spent lots of time laughing and wondering "What on earth did they do to me during surgery." It's gone now though.

I, too, have a bruise to the lower left - kind of near the pubic bone - but not quite that low. No where near an incision. Need to call the doc?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
