Mine was almost 36

Its been a resounding success, i went way past my initial goal and am now fit, healthy and running half marathons (well, almost, lol).

There's some evidence from Australia that the band actually works even better for the lower BMI patients.

Mine was 38. I feel like I've lost rather easily. I'm well below what my surgeon set as my goal. I never really thought it was because I was on the lower side of the scale. I thought if I weighed more, I'd lose more.

I'm really interested in hearing from other people too!

My BMI was around 36 I think. I'm currently at BMI 31 and plan on doing naked cartwheels when I hit a regular BMI.

I was 39.9 on the day of surgery - which is pretty much a 40 to me.

Now I am 25 and am normal (but that is only my BMI, lol).

Surgery date BMI was 40

Today BMI is 36.6

I am newly banded, but I am very happy with my results thus far. I look forward to getting into the twenties for my BMI.

Mine was 47.8 the day of surgery. Now 6 months and 73 pounds later it's 37.1. I'm still a long way from my goal but I'm getting there.

Mine was 35, but was 37 when I decided to get banded. I'm less than 5 months banded and have lost quite consistently, and hope to make it to the surgeon-set goal as per my ticker over the next three months.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
