ChubbleBubble 0 Posted October 13, 2003 Hi Beth, I actually have the sugar free Instant Breakfast in my pantry but haven't tried it yet. I've been drinking the soy Slim Fast shakes. I use the powder and low fat milk and I've been drinking them (once a day for breakfast) since a few weeks after my surgery. I really like it (chocolate flavored) and it manages to keep me satisfied until around 10-10:30 am. I usually drink it around 6 am. I then eat yogurt and sometime can't eat lunch. It's when I get home from work that I really want to eat. I will have my first fill on Friday :nervous (FINALLY!). I was 8 weeks post op on the 6th of this month. I think Ensure has a LOT of calories in it, I know my mother in law use to drink them when she had cancer to bring her caloric intake up because she was so thin... so you may want to think about that one. Good Luck... I have to go, my yorkie is biting my toes! She's jealous of the computer. LOL
jadrad7 0 Posted October 13, 2003 I never tried those because i still had some SCAN shakes from GNC when i was on a Atkins type diet. they are okay tasting. They come as a powder, i use my tupperware shaker to mix it.
GingerRenayd2 0 Posted October 13, 2003 I just had my durgery on Wed 10/08 anyways The doctor told me I needed 75 gram Protein a day. Well I mix 1 cup chocolate soy milk 1 cup 2%milk 1 pack of carnation and 1/3 cup of dry milk. It is almost 30 grams and it very good. I just am not liking the premixed shakes from GNC. I just sip on a little at a time 3-4 times a day. GOOD LUCK!
