jsuarez 0 Posted December 16, 2008 This is my first post. My surgery date is scheduled in a few days. I can't wait. I've been sticking to my pre-op diet and hating every minute of those chalky Protein Shakes, but loving the weight loss. My only concern is I've caught I mild cold a few days ago and don't know if that could affect my surgery. I don't meet with my doctor again until the actual date of sugery. I don't have a fever or anything, just some mild conjestion and coughing. I don't know what I'd do if it had to be postponed. I'm a teacher and I completely planned this around Christmas break. Do they typically go ahead with surgery if you have a mild cold?
GhrelinKing 0 Posted December 16, 2008 Hi jsuarez, This is my first post on this site as well so take any of my info with a grain of salt but from what I have read if your cold isn't in your chest real bad and you don't have a fever then they will go ahead. They do a pulmonary function test prior to surgery to make sure your lungs are working good so that it will be safe for you. I am getting banded this Thursday as well :blushing: in TJ with Dr Ortiz. Good luck with your surgery, Hopefully someone else with more experience will respond soon to your question. This is what I think of the pre op diet:scared2: Chris
